KIDS WITH CARDBOARD HOUSELego house tall with pine treesConstruction site built from LegosTeachers are collaborating to help students read and write better. Ms. Alvarado, the media specialist, and Ms. Lock, the art teacher, are collaborating with third-grade teachers to help students develop a deeper understanding of story elements. Students work as teams to build a setting with Legos, KNexs or cardboard for their story. They then take a picture and save it to their Google Drive. In media class, they write describing their setting. Next week, they will make some characters and begin the action of the story in media class.
